How Easy Read is being built in
- Easy words and short sentences.
- 1 main idea at a time.
- Large, left-aligned text.
- Pictures or visual markers that support the meaning.
- No important meaning shown by colour alone.
- Clear headings and descriptive links.
- HTML pages that work with screen readers and browser text settings.
Important limitation
The Easy Read pattern follows current accessibility guidance. It should not be described as fully validated until people with learning disabilities have tested the content and their feedback has been acted on.
