Make coping skills easier to remember and use
What EUPD means here
Emotionally unstable personality disorder (EUPD) can affect emotions, relationships and how you feel about yourself. You may also see the name borderline personality disorder (BPD).
Dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) is one of the main treatments. It teaches skills for managing feelings, distress and relationships.
If you lose track during a session
ADHD can make it hard to take in a long explanation, even when you want to learn.
Tell your therapist: ‘I lost the steps. Can we go through one skill and try it together?’
Make a reminder you can actually use
Ask your therapist to help put that skill into a short phone note or card. Include when to use it and the first action.
Keep it somewhere easy to find. Practise finding it before you leave the session.
Practise when you are not overwhelmed
Agree a small practice with your therapist. Link it to something you already do, such as finishing breakfast, and put a reminder there.
If it does not happen, tell your therapist where you got stuck. You may need help remembering or starting—not another long explanation.
